Here are some notes and photos from week #11:

Day 74:

I got my new Mars-Hydro TS 3000 LED Grow Light on November 23 at 11:00 pm. and had it unboxed and hung by 12:00 These girls are turning into beautiful women. They got flipped on November 11th, and are starting to show their feminine side. Let me back up a couple weeks ago when I did a 36 hour dark before the flip to 12/12.

I had posted proud pictures of my girls, showing my tent, and set up to a blog.

Not one, but many people chimed in to tell me I was going to be disappointed if I didn’t get some real light on them. I quickly started to research and ask more people about lights for my grow.

I quickly discovered I was way under powered in the light department.

Everyone was telling me to go big or go home. More watts from the wall equals more yield and quality. Wow, lights are expensive. My original light was $139 (cheap). They advertised they were perfect for my tent size and I found what I thought to be unbiased reviews. They said it replaces 600 watt HPS lights.

It does not.

Come to find out all these little (burple) LED lights have no real power to get the job done in the flowering of cannabis. It’s all about watts from the wall.

My (burple) lights said they drew 180 watts. I probably could have gotten 2 more and had three going to flower my girls.

I was so turned off by my lights at this point, but there was no way I was pouring gasoline on this fire.

I decided to get something in the middle. Something with a little newer tech.

I spent about $650 on Mars Hydro TS3000. They draw 450 watts at 100%. They have a knob you can dial up or down on the power.

I love the light.

It’s like the real sun. No more (burple) color. I can see my girls the way they were meant to be seen.

It helps in seeing your plants for any abnormalities or deficiencies. I could have spent so much more.

You get what you pay for I suppose, but there is a budget and I was maxed out for this first grow.

I did a big defoliation just yesterday and was amazed at the growth on the bud sits. I thought the Ladies would been pissed. They seem to have liked it and look amazing in one day.
