Flowering has begun
Big Bud & Watermellon Photoperiods 4X4 Indoor Grow
Flipped the four girls on Sunday August 15th.
Now, Sunday, August 29th, two weeks later, the flowering has begun.
First week of flower: Sunday, August 29th to Saturday, September 4th, 2021.
Notes and photos from the first week of flower:
Opened up the tent on Sunday and I could clearly see flowers. Preflower lasted just about 10 days and as you can see we are now in flower.
This is the best part
- Plants have increased water uptake as the roots are filling up the pots.
- I’m watering front two about every 4 or 5 days.
- Two in the back are needing water every 6 or 7 days.
- I’m adding a top-dressing of Gaia Green every 2-3 weeks.
Each plant is getting watered with molasses, top-dressed, or just watered independently, as needed. I hope to get them all on the same schedule soon when they are requiring water every couple days: it will be so much easier.
Over the last couple weeks I have had light 18-20 inches above the canopy, slowly increasing the intensity of light.
Before flip, the light draw was about 130 watts. Over the last couple weeks I have turned the dimmer up a little bit every day and now light is maxed out, drawing 430 watts, still hanging 18-20 inches above the canopy.
I have also had to raise the lights many times over last two weeks, as the plants are going through their “stretch.”
I supercropped before flip and have continued to defoliate where needed and taken off bud sites that were’t on the top. It’s time to step back and admire the flowers and let the plant be a plant. I will continue to defoliate and raise the light, but all the major work has been done to get to this point. Time to let them stretch and become what they will be.
