Seventh week of flower
Big Bud & Watermellon Photoperiods 4X4 Indoor Grow
Flipped the four girls on Sunday August 15th.
Seventh week of flower: Sunday, October 10th to Saturday, October 16th, 2021.
Notes and photos from the 7th week of flower:
It is the end of the 7th week and I can see where I have made a mistake…
Not sure until dry weight is in, but buds are smaller than previous grows because I took off all the bud sites except for the top node.
Leaving 3 nodes in previous grows allowed buds to stack and look much bigger.
With only one bud growing on top (all colas, no stacking), I can see it might be a low yielding crop. The buds are heavy and dense and laced with heavy trichomes though. It is possible that I will get good weight from these smaller, denser buds… Wishful thinking maybe.
I’m getting ready for some new additions in the grow room.
My new 2×4 for tents will be perfect so I can always have flowers in bloom. Being able to veg 2 plants while 2 are flowering will mean no more long periods of time without flowers growing.
I’m so excited.
I’m wondering about lights for each tent.
I’m thinking about fluorescent T5’s for my Veg tent. I have a blurple light that will work but I’m not excited about using it. I can run the blurple at about 100 watts or get T5’s using 2 4ft bulbs using 110 watts.
I’m currently trying to find out if the T5’s will do a good job…
I hate seeing my plants under a purple light. It’s hard to see actual color of plants. It’s very important to see actual color so you can tell if plant is deficient in nutrients.
My Mars-Hydro TS3000 I’m using currently will be more power than I need for a 2×4 tent, but it will leave me options for cranking it up for flower.
I’ve recently been researching CMH lighting. It would seem that CMH lights are very cheap to buy and do a very good job – better than LED. They use a 315 watt bulb. One bulb works on a footprint of 3×3.
My 4×2 grow tent space is not optimal for a CMH light. The CMH lights are far more penetrating and will work better on lower buds in the canopy. I will continue to think about what to buy.
